Outspoken, bold, and competitive; if those adjectives resonate with you, you’re probably a Fire Element like myself.

In our Behavioral Elements Program, we have four different behavioral preferences that we’ve labeled Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Each element is unique in its own way, but today I am sharing with you what I believe are my strengths and weaknesses as a Fire.

As a Fire Element, I see myself as goal focused, pushing through boundaries and barriers that might stand in the way of my achieving the desired outcome, ensuring success for our team. Most Fires like me are goal-oriented, meaning there is often an abundance of drive and motivation to achieve results and pushing my colleagues to do the same. This lends to our competitive nature, making Fires the go-getters on any team.

Now, of course, as a Fire, I see these as all great qualities to have, but we do have our weaknesses. While I pride myself in my outspoken personality, this can sometimes be a detriment to others. We’re not afraid to speak our minds, but other preferences might see this as offensive or harsh.

Our need to achieve goals is great! But it can also cloud our vision and lead us to make decisions that aren’t always the best. Fires will do whatever it takes to push through any boundary to get to where we want to go, and this can leave many in our ashes.

Fire Elements are natural-leaders and I tackle everything with boss b*%ch mentality. While I see this as a strength, it can come off as aggressive to others.

The importance of all of this is increasing your self-understanding. When you understand your behavioral preference and why you might act the way you do, it’s going to increase your ability to explain, predict, and control not only your own behaviors, but influence others as well.

This is what sets the Behavioral Elements Program apart; our belief that behavior is the root of all success and failure. This understanding allows us to push our clients, businesses, organizations, and beyond to behave intelligently.
